Nurse & Health Services

Welcome to Badin High School Health Services web page.

Attention:

New Immunization Requirements for 12 graders Fall 2016. Proof of 1 Meningococcal Vaccine required, given after age 16. Send proof in to Badin Office as soon as possible. See information below on Immunizations.

The school clinic is staffed by an RN everyday. Feel free to contact us with any concerns you have or to inform us of medications, student's injury, illness and emotional needs, etc. You can contact us by e-mail or phone. We work closely and confidentially with teachers, keeping them informed of significant student medical needs and act as a liaison between the student and their family, teachers, counselors, administration, athletic trainer and medical offices.

Our web page has a variety of information. Please read the information (linked below) regarding when to keep a student home due to Illness, the Policy for Medications at School, Field Trips, and Immunization Requirements.

At the bottom of the Badin Cafeteria Menu web page there is a list of foods served in the Badin Cafeteria with Carbohydrates for each food. The Carbs are estimated to the best of our knowledge according the ingredients and size of serving reported to us by the cafeteria manager, unless the Carbs are specifically listed on the product label. The nurse assigns Carbs to a column on the weekly Menu, which is then posted on the school web site.

Medications: It is State Law and School Policy that students do not carry medications at school , except Inhalers, Epi-Pens, Diabetic supplies ( these do required a Medication Permit to be on file in the School Clinic). We will be glad to keep them in the School Clinic with a Medication Permit signed by you and the prescribing physician. There are many off campus outings throughout the school year and several are overnight. Familiarize yourself with the procedure for medications.

Vision and Hearing screenings: Freshman and Junior students will be screened. This usually takes place after we return from Christmas Break. Any student referred by a teacher or their parent will be screened. If you would like your student be screened earlier in the year, please contact us at clinic@badinhs.org.
