Badin High will host its second annual Festival at the new Marcum Park in downtown Hamilton this weekend, Friday and Saturday, June 23 and 24.
The Festival will operate from 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday and from 4 p.m. to midnight on Saturday. The public is invited.
Games, rides, food, refreshments and tremendous prize items to bid on will be featured. The grand prize is a $15,000 cash raffle … tickets will be sold for $25 each of the two days.
“Our festival was very successful last year when we brought it back after a nearly three decade absence,” said Badin High Principal Brian Pendergest. “Now that people know it’s happening, and at this great new Marcum Park location, we expect an even more exciting event in 2017.”
The festival is being held in conjunction with a WhimmyDiddle country music event that is taking place right next door at RiversEdge amphitheater, and will provide plenty of entertainment. The music event is sponsored by the city of Hamilton.
New this year for Badin is a 5k race on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. The race – participants can opt to run or walk – will start at Marcum Park. Race day registration is $20.
Numerous rides for children will operate on 2nd Street with various ride specials -- $15 for all-you-can ride Friday night and $10 for all-you-can-ride from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday.
Plenty of food will be available from food trucks set up at the event, and there will be a Beer Garden and Tiki Bar there as well. Water and Pepsi products will also be featured.
An Alumni tent will be set up at the intersection of 2nd and Dayton streets near St. Julie Billiart Church. Alums of Badin, Hamilton Catholic and Notre Dame high schools are invited to stop by and pick up a free gift. Hamilton Catholic and Notre Dame apparel will also be available for order. An Apple iPad will be raffled off to alums.
Plenty of parking will be available in the 2nd Street garage and in various lots throughout the city.
