National Merit Scholars

Badin is pleased to participate in the prestigious National Merit Scholarship program overseen by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which distributes $28 million in scholarship money to some 15,000 graduating seniors each year.

Seniors become eligible for the National Merit Scholarship based on their performance on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT), which they take as juniors.

Those who are named National Merit Scholarship semi-finalists are in the running for scholarship money. Commended students, who are not eligible for scholarship dollars, represent the top five percent in performance of those who take the PSAT at more than 21,000 high schools in the country each year.
