Three Badin student-athletes set to play college football

Three student-athletes in the Class of 2018 at Badin High School made official commitments today to play college football next season.

Seniors Dallas Krause, Chase Luckett and Kegen Rogers will take their gridiron talents to the next level.

“These young men were difference-makers on the football field for Badin, and they will do the same for their college of choice,” Badin Athletic Director Geoff Melzer said. “Badin is well known for playing outstanding football, and this trio has helped add to that positive reputation of Ram toughness during their careers.”

All three were first team all-Greater Catholic League Coed Central Division selections as seniors, while Luckett (2016) and Rogers (2015) had made previous appearances on the all-GCL squad.

  • Dallas Krause will attend Thomas More College, an NCAA Division III school in Crestview Hills, Ky., and is leaning toward a major in exercise science. He is the son of David and Robin Angel-Krause of Fairfield and a graduate of Sacred Heart School.
  • Chase Luckett will attend Ohio Northern University, an NCAA Division III school in Ada, Ohio, and major in computer science. He is the son of Julie Luckett of Hamilton and Sam Luckett of Okeana and a graduate of Ross Middle School.
  • Kegen Rogers will attend Georgetown College, an NAIA school in Georgetown, Ky., and major in exercise science. He is the son of Jeremy and Julie Rogers of Hamilton and a graduate of Ross Middle School.

Krause was a first team offensive lineman; Luckett a first team defensive lineman; and Rogers a first team linebacker for the Rams, who finished 5-5 in their first season under new head football coach Nick Yordy.

“When you make the commitment to play college football, you are showing a serious amount of dedication,” Melzer said. “We’re very proud of these young men, and know that the legacy of Badin football is in good hands with them at the college level.”
