Fans of William Shakespeare can get their “fix” at Badin High School the weekend of May 4-5 when Theatre Badin presents “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)” in the school’s Little Theatre.
“Just think 90 minutes of laughs,” said Sarah Cline, Badin’s drama coordinator, when asked about the show. “You get all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays in an hour-and-a-half. And the students aren’t even talking fast!”
Badin seniors Heather O’Hara and Rachel Siemer, along with junior Emily Burley, lead the way in this merry romp through the Shakespeare catalog. Senior Benny Wang makes his directorial debut.
It’s the complete Shakespeare – comedies, histories and tragedies – rolled into one in a show that will leave the audience entertained by the creativity of what was London’s longest-running comedy on stage.
What is known as the “4th Wall” in theater is continually broken as the cast talks to the audience and interacts with them.
Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door. Show times are Friday night, May 4, at 7:30 p.m., with two shows on Saturday, a 2:30 p.m. matinee and a 7:30 p.m. finale.
