‘The Pajama Game’ on stage at Badin April 18-21

The Tony Award winning musical “The Pajama Game” returns to the stage at Badin High School with four shows April 18-21 at the Catholic high school on New London Road in Hamilton.

“This is a great show,” said Badin drama director Mrs. Sarah Cline. “It’s fun for everyone, with terrific music and an entertaining plot. There’s a reason that this show keeps popping up on stages all over the country.”

The show features a labor battle in the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory that turns into a humorous “Battle of the Sexes.” Show-stopping songs include “Steam Heat” and “Hernando’s Hideaway” – the latter a song everyone recognizes by tune if not by title.

“The Pajama Game” won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 1955 and was most recently staged at Badin in 2007.

“Our students are having fun with it, as they always do,” Cline said. “They know that the audience will share their enjoyment.”

Shows are Thursday through Saturday, April 18-19-20, at 7 p.m. and a 2:30 matinee on Sunday, April 21. Tickets are $12 and available on the Badin website at as well as at the Little Theatre door.

Plant manager Sid Sorokin – played by BHS senior Patrick Farrell – is in a labor tussle with Babe Williams – played by Badin junior Liz Carruthers – over a potential raise. Their story relationship comes to a head and leads to both a labor battle and a battle of the sexes.

Other key roles are played by Badin juniors Rogue Carruthers and Logan Dent as well as freshman Louella Cline. Also in the cast are seniors Samantha Keil and Veronica Keil; juniors Jocelyn Brenot, Sam Collins, Liz Debbane and Andrew Keck; sophomores Braden Evers, Raynah Grau and Olivia Snyder; and Queen of Peace student Vince Collins.

Stage crew members include senior Dylan Klefeker and juniors Olivia Nester, Carrie Ries and Quinn Tavares.
