Franchini earns top graduation medal at Badin High

Luke Franchini was awarded the Stephen T. Badin medal, the highest honor given to a Badin High School student, at the graduation ceremony on Friday, May 24, at St. John the Evangelist Church in West Chester Township.

The medal is given to the senior who is voted by faculty and staff as the most outstanding member of the graduating class in all aspects of his or her high school career.

Franchini, a graduate of St. Ann School, was a leader throughout his four years at Badin. Among many accolades, Luke was a Kairos Senior Retreat leader, earned the Religion Department award as the top student, started on the offensive line on the Rams’ undefeated football team, and was voted Homecoming king. “Luke is a terrific young man,” Badin Principal Patrick Keating said. “He is extremely well-liked by his peers. He’s a leader who has the gift of being able to bring people together. All of it will serve him well in his life beyond Badin.”

A total of 137 students were represented in Badin’s Class of 2024, the co-ed Catholic high school’s 58th graduating class since opening in the fall of 1966.
